It’s clearly spelled out in many different walks of life and I am trying my best to follow it. A sin here, a sin there with a lot of remorse and personal introspection along the way. My opinion, my thought is what is truly important. My judgement into another’s is of little use for me to reach my goal.

My goal? Self acceptance and a contrite heart.

  • Buddhism: “Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.” – Udana-Varga 5:18
  • Hinduism: “This is the sum of duty: do naught unto others which would cause you pain if done to you.” – Mahabharata 5:1517
  • Taoism: “Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain, and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss.” – Tai Shang Kan Ying Pien
  • Zoroastrianism: “That nature alone is good which refrains from doing unto another whatsoever is not good for itself.” – Dadistan-i-dinik 94:5
  • Jainism: “In happiness and suffering, in joy and grief, we should regard all creatures as we regard our own self.” – Lord Mahavir
