With the warmth of the summer sun comes the return of tiny midge bugs dancing in its bright rays. In this observational episode, I take a moment to appreciate the simple beauty of these delicate insects fluttering about in the sunlight. Midges emerge en masse near water sources, forming mesmerizing swarms that twist and turn through the air. Backlit by the sun’s radiance, their translucent wings and miniscule bodies are aglow, putting on a spectacular show. The midge’s brief lifespan gives its dance in the light a sense of poignancy.
